A $29.1 settlement was reached against a Chicago hospital after physicians were proven to be negligent in the delivery of a newborn baby.
The settlement was secured by attorneys David J. Pritchard and Patrick A. Salvi II of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard along with the help of Evidence Video.
When the mother began complaining of severe labor pains, physicians failed to supply her with an antibiotic that would have prevented a severe infection from spreading to the baby. The infection advanced through the blood stream traveling to the brain. The child is now a spastic quadriplegic with cerebral palsy who cannot walk, talk or eat through his mouth.
