About Us
Gera-Lind Kolarik founded Evidence Video in 1988 when the need by Chicago attorneys for such work became apparent. The company runs the gamut of videotaping various disabilities that impact a plaintiff's life but has special expertise in brain injury and closed head injury cases.
Prior to that time, Gera-Lind worked as a TV journalist for 12 years in Chicago for CBS and ABC, winning an Emmy for breaking news and receiving 2 Emmy nominations for television stories and series she produced. She also has an Oscar nomination as a producer for a network TV special.
Since moving from television to working with attorneys, she has created over 5,000 videos, producing an average of 200 videos per year with five crews and two other producers. Evidence Video uses bilingual crew members and creates videos for Hispanic, Polish, Arab, and Greek plaintiffs. Most of the staff of Evidence Video are former television news reporters and crew members.
Not once has a judge disallowed a video produced by Evidence Video in court or ruled that it could not be introduced into evidence. Gera-Lind has testified personally in five trials.
Gera-Lind is a prolific speaker on the use of videos in and out of court. She has presented legal education seminars for the Chicago Bar Association, Inns of Court, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Illinois State Bar Continuing Legal Education Series. For the Southern Trial Lawyers Conference of the American Trial Lawyers Association, she addressed the use of video in brain damage and closed head injury cases.
